The title already says it, but it's worth saying again - a very warm welcome to the blog and website of Women for Independence North East Fife! We are a group of women (based in, unsurprisingly, NE Fife) who are committed to achieving Scottish Independence through the creation of social and creative spaces such as listening groups and craft groups.
This website and blog is run by various women involved in the campaign, and anyone is welcome to suggest a blog topic or even contribute a post of their own - please just get in touch!
Currently, far fewer women are planning on voting 'yes' than men. One explanation that has been suggested for this is that women have been put off by the aggressive tone of the debate, from both sides. It has also been suggested that as people become more informed about the debate, the more likely they are to vote 'yes'. Therefore, in addition to posting news about the events and get-togethers organised by Women for Independence NE Fife, this blog will also aim to comment on issues and connect readers to new information regarding independence in a reasoned and open fashion. Questions and comments are warmly encouraged!
We hope you will join us on our slightly mad journey leading up September 18th 2014, as we talk, knit, and exhibit our way towards an independent nation.
