As I'm sure our readers have gathered by now (!) this Saturday, 21st June, Women for Independence North East Fife will be hosting an art exhibition at 'Hear the Nation' at the Cupar Corn Exchange, from 10am onwards. Over the past few weeks you've heard about our altered books and our knitted map of Scotland, about our exciting auction of Lokart's Memoirs, about our craft workshops. But that's not all. We will also be displaying (for sale as well as viewing, with a 25% commission going to support Yes North East Fife) a wide range of art from a variety of professional Scottish artists.
Our exhibition brings together some of the best work being done in this corner of the world, and is an opportunity for people to see the quality of the art being produced right on their doorsteps. Attendees of our exhibition will be treated to a show containing art in a range of mediums and styles, from tactile ceramics and delicate etchings to compelling portraits and enticing landscapes.
In the gallery below you can see just a few examples of some of the works being displayed this Saturday - please visit our Artists page for more information! (The works shown below are, from left to right, by Gwen Adair, Lesley Johnston, Meg Manson, John Smith, and Ian MacIntyre).

Beautiful as it may be, however, not everyone can afford to do more than admire professional art from afar. Which is why we are offering our attendees a very exciting opportunity. Artists, some amateur, some professional, have contributed a selection of A5 pieces of original art, all of which will be for sale for £25 each at our exhibition. The twist? The name of the artists won't be revealed until after the pieces have been sold. So, you could go away with something by one of our professional artists, or you could choose a piece by a yet-undiscovered talent...
Either way, this Saturday's exhibition promises to be a feast to the eyes. Women for Independence NE Fife are looking forward to seeing you all there!
